For many, Memorial Day weekend marks the beginnging of summer. Kids are getting out of school, the weather has turned warm, and backyard barbecues are in full swing.
Whether you're hosting a gathering, or bringing something to a potluck picnic, CDKitchen has recipes and info you'll need for this Memorial Day!
On The Grill
Whether grilling in your backyard or at the park you should know the grilling basics before you start. Also make sure you grill safely! The last place you want to spend the holiday weekend is in the Emergency Room!
Marinating adds extra flavor and can improve the texture of your grillables. Read Lauren's article on marinades. She gives you a great overview of what a marinade does and how to best use them. She even shares three of her own recipes for you to try.
And speaking of recipes... Make sure to browse our "On The Grill" Recipes. There are categories for Fish and Seafood: for grilling shrimp on the barbie or the catch of the day; Meat and Game: for burgers, steaks, brats, or ribs (and more!); Poultry and Fowl: for chicken kabobs, turkey tenderloins, and even cornish game hens; Vegetables: the ever popular grilled corn on the cob, mushrooms, eggplant and asparagus. And don't forget dessert! Try Grilled Pineapple with Kahlua Dulce de Leche, Oatmeal Cookie S'Mores, and even Grilled Waffle Sundaes.
Off The Grill
Looking for a super side dish to serve your friends and family? Tried and true recipe favorites are Cole Slaw, Potato Salad, Pasta Salad, and Baked Beans. Go for the basics like the All-American Macaroni Salad, or rev up their tastebuds with some of the less traditional versions like the Chipotle Chile Slaw. For easy to transport sweets, try a batch of bars, brownies, or cookies. And of course there is always room for pie!.
So this Memorial Day no matter what you're cooking - find it on CDKitchen! Afterall, it's what's cooking online!
