"The Chili Dog's Fantastic Food Page!" That was the original name of this website, named after our 100 lb. Dalmatian, Chili. As our traffic grew, however, it became apparent that people could mistakenly think that all we offered were recipes for hot dogs with chili sauce. So the name was shortened to the present CDKitchen.com. But our Chili Dog is still in the title!

After ten years, we're proud of the fact that this former hobby site has become one of the highest-trafficked sites having anything at all to do with food. We've striven to be the one site that provides you with the most user-friendly features, like automatic scaling for serving-size, personal cooking blogs that are free and available to anyone, almost no duplicate recipes, one-click recipe software importing, a large section for the ever-popular copycat recipes, cooking-related games, and our own slate of featured cooking columnists.

This month, we've added still more features to note our 10th anniversary. For instance, since so many recipe-searchers these days are entering the phrase "30 Minute Meals" into Google and other search engines, we've rolled out the red carpet by launching a large new section specifically for recipes that can be prepared in under a half-hour. The new 30 minute meals section has almost 5,000 recipes in it. And in true CDK fashion, you can bet that number will continue to grow.

As a further offering to all the time-pressed cooks visiting our site, we're pleased to introduce Amy Powell, our new featured columnist. Amy's weekly column, Real Meals in Minutes, will be targeted to visitors who seek recipes for 30 minute meals but who have a few minutes to spare to absorb the insight and expertise of a highly trained chef! Amy is an Ivy League graduate who received culinary training at the renowned French Culinary Institute. New articles will be posted to her column every Sunday. Feel free to post your comments for any of our featured columnists, for them and other readers to see!

And finally, another feature that we've added for fun-seeking foodies is our cooking jigsaw puzzles. You can set the difficulty-level from easy to excruciating. The hardest degree of difficulty adds a twist that will challenge even die-hard puzzlers, making it truly . . . well, excruciating!

Whether you've known about CDKitchen for ten years or you just arrived today, you should know that everything on our site is for your use, is totally free, and has been that way for longer than there's been a food TV network!

Thanks for visiting,
